Women in Red
[edit]Hi there, Anita Verna Crofts, and welcome to Women in Red. In the above welcome message, I have left some useful links to guidance about how to edit on Wikipedia. One of the recommendations is that you should avoid writing biographies of personal contacts. I therefore hope you will be inspired to find other interesting people to write about. If you want to write biographies of women, you should find it useful to look through our Ten Simple Rules. Please let me know if you run into any difficulties or need assistance. Happy editing!--Ipigott (talk) 06:01, 3 June 2024 (UTC)
- Hi Ipigott,
- Thank you for the welcome! I certainly understand the advice of not writing about personal contacts, but in this case I hope the WiR will support a possible exception. I only knew Georgiana the final few years of her life and we met only a handful of times, but those meetings were indelible and helped provide me with helpful links for her potential page. I had come to Wikipedia to write her page this summer and was delighted to see that she was listed as a potential woman to cover, but as of now, still no official page that documents her rich life.
- My plan is to have a draft for review in the next month, and if the team deems that it's not neutral enough I'll happily relinquish it to an alternative author. How does this sound?
- Thank you! Anita Verna Crofts (talk) 20:38, 3 June 2024 (UTC)
- You are welcome to start a draft in your user space, e.g. as user:Anita Verna Crofts/Georgiana Melicent Peacher, but you must make sure you draw on at least three independent sources which cover her with more than just passing reference. From what you say, it looks as if she is no longer alive. You may therefore be able to find details in published obituaries. Please let me know when you would like me to take a look at your draft and I'll let you know whether it's suitable for inclusion. Don't forget to ping me if you want me to respond. Happy editing!--Ipigott (talk) 12:06, 6 June 2024 (UTC)
